A chest of drawers is a type of cabinet (a piece of furniture) with multiple parallel, horizontal drawers typically stacked one
above another.
Some chests of drawers feature shelves in the upper section for storing or displaying tableware. Traditionally, chests of drawers have been made and used for storing clothing, especially underwear, socks, and other items that are not typically hung or stored in a closet. While they are commonly placed in bedrooms for this purpose, they can be used to store any items that fit inside and can be placed anywhere in a house or other locations. Personal sundry items are also often stored in a chest of drawers.A typical chest is rectangular in shape and often includes short legs at the bottom corners for floor placement. Most chests of
drawers fall into two categories:
1. Waist-high or bench-high chests, which typically have fewer drawers.
2. Shoulder-high chests, which usually have more drawers.
